Kathy and Evelyn decided to have K & E day (Boooooo!!), so it’s daddy-daughter excursion day (Yeahhh)!!!!! I love these days.
“So girls where are we going?” I asked.
With no pause, they said, “The Mall !”
Seems like a great idea to me, so I found a mall and off we went. All our excursions begin with a short walk to the bus stop. We hop off at the train station and ride rails to our destination.
Our first stop was the post office in Yokosuka, then back to the train to go to Yokohama, then Shin-Yokohama. By now Desi is grunting, sighing and gasping using her umbrella as a cane like she’s an old lady.
“OOOOH! Can we stop why are we walking so fast??!!”
Here we go! We walked around looking for Lalaport Mall but couldn’t find it. We stopped and ate McDonald’s (of course), and a guy there directed us to a closer mall.
Desi says, “I thought you and Mommy found a mall yesterday. Was it here?”
I reply, “No, that mall is back where we stopped at the post office. This is all new territory for us.”
Desi says “Of course!!!” I wonder where she got that from?
After more walking, grunting, and gasping, Kesi finally says, “Let’s just go back to the other mall.”
We get back on the train to Yokosuka, get off, and finally we were at the mall. All of sudden no one was tired. The stores must have re-energized Desi. I heard no more complaining about walking or anything.
Then, it was, “Daddy, I found this jacket. I tried it on. It fits. I need you to help me with half, so I don’t use all of my money. It’s the only one I’ve found that I really really like!!”
She knows I’m not going to let her pay for this, right (of course)? All this time, Kesi was quietly shopping. She purchased herself a shirt and never asked me for anything. She’s getting older I thought (okay, no tears … men don’t cry, but wow).
Most of our daddy-daughter outings end with something sweet to eat. We found Mr. Donut, and then hopped back on the train to Evelyn’s place.
Man I love days like this. I never knew 2 little girls would make me feel so happy!!
